Recent polling by Osage indicates the race has significantly tightened for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia. Governor Jim Justice leads with 49%, followed by Congressman Alex Mooney at 35%. Mooney’s numbers have shown he has closed the race by over 20 percentage points and the Momentum continues to be on his side.

Closing the Gap:
Earlier this month, the MetroNews poll from West Virginia revealed a commanding lead for Jim Justice, with 66% compared to Congressman Alex Mooney’s 24%. The latest polling shows a dynamic shift in the narrative, showcasing a remarkable surge for Congressman Mooney coming into the final weeks.
Endorsements:
Congressman Mooney has a growing list of supporters from across the country, including leading Republicans in Congress like Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Rand Paul, Senator Mike Lee, and Rep. Jim Jordan. Mooney has also been endorsed by over 35 West Virginia legislators and leading national conservative groups, including Gun Owners of America. Gun Owners of America recently purchased $60,000 in radio ads reiterating his commitment to the 2nd amendment.
Also in April Mooney was endorsed by the largest 2nd Amendment organization in West Virginia, “West Virginia Citizens Defense League.” The West Virginia Farm Bureau also endorsed Mooney in April. Meanwhile Jim Justice’s decision last week to endorse Moore Capito for Governor, over the other three leading candidates, has upset many voters.
Alex Mooney’s Record:
Congressman Alex Mooney is the only conservative in this race. He has a consistent record of advocating for lower taxes, staunchly supporting Second Amendment rights, and upholding individual freedoms. He is committed to strengthening our southern border and proudly supports President Trump’s America First policies.
Path to Victory:
We must continue to define Jim Justice as the proven liberal by using his past voting record, public statements, and policy positions. It’s important to note that once voters realize Jim Justice’s true colors, they flip to Mooney’s side. We must also focus on Congressman Mooney’s conservative credentials and highlight his ten-year record as a Congressman fighting for the issues that align with the conservative West Virginia primary voters.
Conclusion:
Alex X. Mooney is rapidly gaining support and emerging as the clear conservative choice for West Virginia’s U.S. Senate seat. As more voters become aware of Governor Jim Justice’s liberal record, they are increasingly aligning with Mooney.
