Alex Mooney raises over half a million in first quarter of 2023
Finishes with cash on hand of close to $1.4 million, record for challenger in West Virginia
CHARLES TOWN – Rep. Alex Mooney, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in West Virginia, has reported a first quarter total of more than $500,000 raised. In first quarter FEC reports to be filed shortly, Mooney ended with nearly $1.4 million cash on hand, an all-time record for a Senate challenger in West Virginia at this point in the cycle. The total shows why Alex Mooney is the clear front runner to defeat Joe Manchin in 2024.
“Alex Mooney clearly has the momentum behind him in this race. The historic numbers are even more impressive because they came BEFORE the Club for Growth endorsed Mooney’s Senate bid. The resources are needed as Schumer and Soros will spend millions in a futile effort to save Joe Manchin’s political career,” said Mooney’s Campaign Manager, John Findlay.
