Alex Mooney raises over $1 million since launching bid for U.S. Senate
Confirms momentum is strong in first two months of campaign

CHARLES TOWN – Rep. Alex Mooney, the Republican favorite for U.S. Senate in West Virginia, has reported an impressive year-end fundraising total of more than $1 million on hand. In fourth quarter FEC reports filed yesterday, Mooney logged $1,079,417.34, a notable achievement since launching his campaign just two months ago. The total puts Mooney well on his way to defeating Democratic incumbent Joe Manchin in 2024.

“Alex Mooney is honored to have such a strong showing of support from conservatives across West Virginia a mere two months after announcing his run for U.S. Senate. President Joe Biden and the Senate Democrats will pour millions of dollars into protecting this seat, and Senator Joe Manchin’s political career. Manchin is a rubber stamp for Biden’s agenda and does not represent West Virginia conservatives,” said Mooney’s Campaign Manager, John Findlay.

Last week, the Mooney campaign released an extensive list of endorsements from conservatives in West Virginia and nationwide. One such endorsement was from West Virginia Senate President Craig Blair who stated, “Defeating Joe Manchin will be a tall order, many have tried and previously failed. Alex Mooney is a principled conservative, proven winner with an excellent voting record, formidable fundraiser, and the ONLY one up to the task of taking on Manchin.”

“The momentum is on our side to defeat Sen. Joe Manchin next fall. West Virginia needs Alex Mooney in the U.S. Senate to defend the values that are under attack by Manchin and the Left,” added Findlay.

Alex Mooney has well over a year to build on his early fundraising energy. While not yet officially set, the primary election in West Virginia will take place on the second Tuesday of May in 2024.
